How does it work?
Each vehicle has its own auction listing. The listings include as much information as possible including pictures and videos.
All auctions run for seven days.
Bidders can contact the seller in the comments section.
If the auction is without reserve, we will state that in the listing title. We will not publish reserve prices. The seller can lower or remove the reserve at any time during the auction.
If the reserve is not met, CVA will send the highest bidders’ contact information to the seller so they can negotiate after the auction if desired. If the highest bid is close to the reserve price, CVA may choose to pay the difference. We love cars/motorcycles/boats as much as anyone and if you love a car we want you to get it!
When a bid is placed within the last two minutes of an auction the countdown clock will revert back to two minutes. This helps avoid “bid snipers” (bidders that raise their bid with only a few seconds remaining). This makes it fair to the seller and the bidders.
How much does it cost?
Selling: When selling a vehicle there are two options, selling with or without a reserve. For a listing, without a reserve, the seller pays $49. For a listing with a reserve, the seller pays $99. Charging listing fees helps us ensure that sellers are committed to selling the vehicle, avoid scammers, and pay the hard-working people that craft the auction listings.
Buying: The buyer pays a commission of 5% of the sale price. CVA charges a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $5000.
How do I submit a vehicle to be auctioned?
You can submit a vehicle to be auctioned on our vehicle submission page.
Once the submission is accepted you will be contacted by one of our auction concierges. They will work with you to gather all the necessary information and craft a listing designed to thoroughly and honestly represent the vehicle.
You will be sent a copy of the listing for your approval. Once approved and the listing fees have been paid, your auction will be listed. This takes about three days from approval. If you want a specific listing date please let us know.
We encourage sellers to maintain an active presence in the comment section. Sellers that respond quickly to questions get better results.
How do I bid on my dream car?
When you bid we will place a hold on your credit card for the 5% buyer’s commission. We do this to avoid bidders that are not serious about purchasing the vehicle. If you do not win the auction the hold will be released. If you win the credit card will be charged.
It is up to the buyer to do their due diligence. We represent the vehicles as accurately as possible but there is a possibility that we may miss something. Please review the listing carefully. If there is information that you would find helpful that isn’t there, ask for it in the comment section. CVA will work with the seller to add the information to the listing as quickly as possible.
What happens when I win my dream car?
When you win an auction your credit card will be charged the buyer’s commission. You will then receive an email containing the seller’s contact information and the seller will be emailed the buyer’s contact information so that payment and transfer of ownership of the vehicle can be arranged.
